What is EchoPath?
EchoPath is an accessibility-first navigation and environmental awareness app designed for blind and low-vision users.
Does EchoPath require an account?
No. EchoPath does not currently require an EchoPath account or sign-in.
Is EchoPath only for blind users?
It is designed primarily around blind and low-vision accessibility needs, but the app can be used by anyone who finds its navigation and environmental information useful.
Scene Detection
What is Search This Photo?
It lets you ask follow-up questions about the current Scene Detection photo, such as what is in a particular part of the image, what text is visible or what colour an object appears to be.
Does the AI always get the answer right?
No. Scene Detection results are estimates and may misidentify objects, text, colour, materials, positions or hazards.
What happens if Qwen3-VL cannot run?
On iOS, EchoPath can fall back to its existing Apple Vision/RF-DETR based description and search paths.
Privacy
Why does EchoPath need precise location?
Location is needed for navigation, distance, nearby-place information, guidance and other location-based features.
Does EchoPath use my location for advertising?
Riley Burrell Development does not use precise location for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Does Scene Detection send photos to a remote AI service?
The current bundled Qwen3-VL Scene AI path on iOS is designed to run on-device. Some navigation and place features use third-party map and location services as described in the Privacy Policy.
Beta & release
How can I test EchoPath on iPhone?
The iOS public beta is available through Apple TestFlight while capacity and Apple availability allow.
When is EchoPath planned to launch?
The current target is 15 February 2027. Development schedules can change, so this remains a target until release is confirmed.
Can the app still change before launch?
Yes. TestFlight builds and App Store versions can continue to be updated during development and pre-order preparation.
Android
Is EchoPath available on Android yet?
No. The Android version is in active development and is not yet available on Google Play.
Will Android look exactly like iPhone?
No. The goal is consistent EchoPath behaviour and accessibility principles while respecting each platform’s interface conventions.
